“Ever since warm blankets ensured the survival of my great-grandparents and their children during their flight and at the same time provided a sense of security in uncertain times, the search for the right blanket has been passed down from generation to generation to the present day.”
Bettina Kletzsch
Around the time of her child’s birth, Kletzsch filled numerous sketchbooks with over 1,000 drawings over a period of two years. She met with her friends to select from these diary-like images.
Together, they took time for each other, but also to look at the sketches, comment on them, and extract individual shapes from the drawings by tracing them.
These are now knitted into a bedspread. This makes them suitable as a wall hanging, a warming element on the sofa, a piece of clothing, or part of a playful dwelling.
